What Is the Michigan Compete USA Series?

Skate the Shores is Event #9 in the 2026 Michigan Compete USA Series (formerly the Basic Skills Series), one of 14 U.S. Figure Skating-sanctioned Learn to Skate USA competitions held at rinks across Michigan each season. Skaters compete in Free Skate (Program with Music) and/or Element/Compulsory events at every level, from Snowplow Sam through Adult, plus Excel, Special Olympics Badges, Showcase, and Solo Dance.

Skaters who enter at least 3 of the 14 series events are eligible for season-long points, with final standings and awards presented at the series finale in Midland on November 7, 2026. Every competitor at every event goes home with a medal.
